Evelyn Twitchell combines both representational and abstract language to create intimate, pared down works that evoke the sensations and experiences of nature. Much of her inspiration is derived from the light and imagery around her home on the Susquehanna River.
Twitchell has had numerous solo shows in New York, and her artwork has been included in group shows around the country, as well as the contemporary art fairs Pulse Miami and Pulse New York. She received an MFA from Parson’s School of Design and has taught at universities in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In 2011 she was awarded a residency at Yaddo. Twitchell lives and works in Brooklyn, NY and Milton, PA.
